Mardo took a minute to think and chose his words carefully

"I was brought to the temple at the age of three, and I've been learning the jedi ways ever since. The jedi way is to help the people in need, to help the ones who can not help themselves. And I think that's why I want to be a jedi, to help the ones who can not help themselves."

Maven then turned away from his apprentice looking out the window meditating.

Mardo bowed to his new master and walked towards the Jedi archives. For the next two weeks he studied ancient arts of the ligtsaber combat, looking at images from the jedi holocrons, and read the text from the archives database. Each night he returned to his room and meditated on the things he learned that day. Letting the images he saw in the jedi holocrons came back to his mind. Form one, Shii-cho, was already somewhat familiar to him, since it was part of his youngling training, yet he was never able to fully master it, even if it was one of the simplest forms. Makashi was the form for the experts on lightsaber combat, and surely wasn’t something for him. The boy knew that his real strengths didn’t lie in his skill with a lightsaber, yet he should use it to defend himself, giving him time to get another solution on the conflict. Soresu, also known as the resilience form, would be the most suited for him. Given it’s great defensive capabilities wearing the opponent out, so you could find it weakness. Also the Shien / Djen sho, applied more to Mardo tastes, being also defensive, yet more effective to end combat more quickly. Mardo decided to focus mainly on these two forms. Obviously the defender type hilt would be the best suited for this type of combat.

After two weeks of studying, the boy returned to his master and said: “master I think I’m ready to make my lightsaber”
